It's July!

Wow, time is flying!!

I was going to do picture week this week, but I have tons of pictures to go through after our vacation from last weekend and weeks prior so I think I am going to wait to do it until next week. This week is going to be hectic from catching up on housework, unpacking from our trip, getting Jaxson settled in daycare (today is his first day with big brother at Vicki's house!!), getting Jaxson over his double ear infection, and Aaron settling into his new job. It's pure upheaval over here!! In a good way, though, but we are horribly busy.

How was your 4th of July? Ours was nice and relaxing. We went to visit with Aaron's mom, Joan, who is house-sitting for Aaron's cousin while her and her family are on a mission trip in Mexico for another 4 weeks. They live up in Gig Harbor and I have to say that it was nice getting away to the country. If it weren't for our jobs and lease and other things, we would love to live in GH. It's just so safe and peaceful...a wonderful area to raise a family. We love the amenities of a city, but not the chaos of one. This would provide us with a happy medium... Maybe when we buy a house in 3 years we will consider it. :)

Anyway, it was really a good time. I think I also came back 10 pounds heavier. One thing about my MIL is that she is generous... actually over-generous. If you are on a diet or trying to be careful about what you eat, don't eat what my MIL makes! As soon as we got there, she had 2 dozen cookies, 2 pumpkin pies, chocolate cupcakes, and carrot cake lined up for us. Chips, soda, ice cream, popsicles, burgers, nachos...I mean, you name it and we had it! I ate so much crap it's not even funny. We also just relaxed around the farm most of the time. Jayden and Jaxson got to pet the bunnies and feed the chickens as well as snuggle with their two cats, Black Jack and Snuggles. We played board games, cards, and even got in some good quality nap time. Jaxson also had to make a visit to urgent care when we got there...poor guy has a double ear infection and had fluid coming out of his ear!! No wonder he wasn't sleeping well... He's on the mend now, though.

Jayden also discovered his newfound fascination with boots. Because of all the muck and poop at the chicken coop, the kids have boots to wear for outside. Jayden borrowed a pair of Angelina's boots while we were there and didn't want to take them off until we promised him that we'd buy him and his little brother a pair of their own boots that they can bring to "the farm" when we go back in early August. Even this morning he was upset with me when I put his regular shoes on because he wanted to wear boots. Haha!

Jayden loved the fireworks this year. We let him play with sparklers under strict supervision... he was scared at first because I don't think he'd ever really seen fire before but after he got the hang of it, he loved the sparklers and loved to watch the other fireworks we had. Jaxson didn't care at all. He spent the whole time chasing the soccer ball in the front yard. :) Afterwards, Jax stayed with Nana Joan and went to bed while we took Jayden down to the Purdy Spit (a section of beach not far from the farm) to watch as everyone launched their big fireworks. It was nice to sit out, but we didn't stay long. It was windy so it was difficult to light the fireworks and there were a lot of drunk, stupid people down there and we got pelted with firework remnants twice. I'm glad that Jayden got to see the big fireworks, though, because he thought they were pretty cool. The couple sitting next to us was nice enough to even let Jayden have a jumbo sparkler which he thought was awesome!

As for Little Sprout? Things are as good as they can be. I feel as huge as a house already (I'm most definitely showing already and that's rather pathetic!) but I guess if it's good for Little Sprout then it's good for me. I'm back on the exercise bandwagon and ready to go and stay in shape this time. I'm 9 weeks and 1 day today and anxiously counting down the days until our next appointment on the 26th (20 days left!) since we get another sneak peek at LS and get to hear his/her heartbeat for the first time. It will be a good day indeed! :)

Have a great week and I'll check in again soon!
