Birthdays Galore!!

Aaron celebrated his 24th birthday on May 22nd and I wanted to do something really fun for him and that was "personal" to him, so I decided to surprise him with a special birthday cake. He knew I was making him a cake and that it was going to be different than anything I've done before which helped me keep him guessing. As most people know, Aaron LOVES video games and grew up with the old school Nintendo, so I tag-teamed with my sister to make him his very own Nintendo controller cake. Now, my sister and I aren't the "Ace of Cakes" or anything, but for first-timers working with fondant I think we did a darn good job...and Aaron didn't seem to mind. Enjoy!

{Silly boy...I guess you can "play" with your cake and eat it too!}

{He absolutely LOVED his cake...and was pleasantly surprised at the theme!}

Since I recruited my sister's help with Aaron's cake, I told her I would return the favor for my nephew's birthday party on June 13th (his actual birthday is the 18th). My now 5-year-old nephew, Trevan, LOVES "Fireman Sam" or anything to do with fire trucks, so that was the theme of his birthday party from the cake down to the venue at the Gold Bar Fire Station. Here are some pictures:

{The cake turned out good, but it definitely proved to be a challenge!!}

{McKenna LOVED holding Jaxson...she kept fighting Grandma and Auntie for him!}

{Jayden got to sit in a REAL fire engine with Daddy!!}

You thought that was it??!! Ha! More pics to come...
